The Stewardship Campaign is Coming

What an exciting time of changes in this church! While these changes can be both exhilarating and challenging, they bring opportunities for us to use our creativity in forging our path ahead. In this spirit, we are excited to introduce a new creative initiative, the 2011-2012 Stewardship Campaign “Taking Care of the Church We Love.” This campaign will share many elements of what in the past was known as the “Annual Canvass.” It marks an intentional effort within the congregation to strengthen our connections with each other, and encourage our commitment to TJMC-UU. This will be an opportunity to discuss our individual roles as stewards of the church, focusing on its many joys and responsibilities.

Beginning on Commitment Sunday, February 27, the discussion will intensify, during which we will connect one-on-one with each household of our community, to discuss, among other things, your annual financial support to the church.

The Stewardship Campaign is more than a re-branding of the canvass. It is an ambitious effort to inform our giving through a much larger conversation about stewardship. This campaign is a celebration of the church we love. It is a time to recognize the wonderful community and cause that the church is. We look forward to celebrating with you and hope that you will join in the fun. One of our goals is to involve as many people as possible in this campaign. Please consider volunteering to help out in any way you can. We have callers, cooks, designers and envelope stuffers and need your talents as well.
