Re-energizing the TJMC B & B Program June 2016

By Bev Thierwechter

As you may have heard, the TJMC B&B program is starting up again and you will definitely want to know about it.  The program benefits UU travelers, TJMC hosts, and proceeds support TJMC.  It’s a … Win-WinWin!! Here’s an overview.

We have a number of TJMC members who have volunteered to act as B&B hosts for UUs travelling to the Charlottesville area.  The hosts provide a place to spend the night (or a few nights), along with a light breakfast.  The UU guests have comfortable, friendly, affordable accommodations and the host gets to connect with fellow UUs from around the country.

So… if you have family or UU friends who need a place to stay while visiting Charlottesville … and you don’t have room in your place … encourage them to use this program!  Just have them contact the B&B coordinator, Bev Thierwechter, and she will connect them with a TJMC B&B host and collect payment for the stay.  For details and to book accommodations, email bevandjim5@comcast.net or bandb@charlottesville.org or call 434-205-4087.

This is a service that is provided around the US (in 29 States, DC and Canada) by UU churches.  Keep this in mind when you are travelling around the country.  You will find the cost very reasonable – in general, better than motels or many online options.  And you get to meet really interesting people!  Just visit the UUreHome website (https://uurehome.com/),sign up, and view the UU B&B directory.

Lastly, if the idea of being a TJMC host interests you, please do contact Bev.  We can always use more hosts!
