Faith in Action
How do our religious values intersect with the world in which we live?
The Faith in Action speaker series is designed to look at salient issues in
the public eye that are of particular concern to Unitarian Universalists and
their values. This fall, the series focuses on issues likely to be important
in upcoming election debates, both at the national and local levels. The program
allows ample time for question and answer and seeks to establish a meaningful
dialogue on important issues.
Faith in Action speaker programs are usually on Sunday mornings at 11:15 in
Summit House Room 1 unless otherwise indicated.
All are free and open to the public.
The tentative schedule for this Spring includes:

Co-Ministers Class: Biblical Literacy for Troubled
Times
Our liberal religious scriptural study continues-as we continue our journey
through the Wisdom Literature of the Hebrew Scriptures. In the world we live
in, the Bible containing the scriptures sacred to the Jewish and Christian traditions
is referred to in many contexts, to justify laws, to condone discriminatory
practices, to foment hatred. Many of us have come to fear the very pages that
are the source of inspiration for many other peaceful and good actions. In this
age, Biblical literacy is a powerful counter to ignorance. Join Revs. David
and Leslie Takahashi Morris as we delve together into the stories that are intertwined
with our culture.
