July 18, Sunday: Sermon - Life Long Faith, Ed Berger & Carol Keese. In the modern world, many of us continuously study our finances, our personal life, our health, and even our favorite sports teams, in an effort to understand them more deeply. However, many of us do not engage in this level of examination of our faith. In this service, we consider what it means for Unitarian Universalists to engage in life-long faith development.

July 18, Sunday: Social Action Collection - Meals on Wheels. Meals on Wheels delivers hot, nutritious lunchtime meals Monday through Friday to residents of the Charlottesville/Albemarle area on a temporary or long-term basis. We serve any resident who is unable to prepare nutritious meals and who has no one to help them with meal preparation. Our goal is to provide not only appetizing nutritious food, but also daily social contact to people who are hungry and alone.”

Church Notes & Requests for Help
Thanks to our Storm Clean Up Crew: Dick Somer, Ron Wormser, Larry Briggs, Don Landis, Doug Webbink, Shirley Gordon, Mary Anna Dunn, Elizabeth Breeden, Sallie Kate Park and Carole Black. They came the morning after the storm and took the tree limb off the Social Hall roof, cut up all the downed branches and trees, and piled up all the debris. Thank you for coming to the rescue!

Playground News: The playground still needs some work done to get it back in shape. Please watch your children carefully if they are on the playground.

Yard Sale Items Needed! Your hard-working yard sale sorting/pricing crew has run out of items to work with, so bring your donations now to Room 1 of Summit House on Sunday mornings or anytime during the week when the Church Office is open. We accept furniture, kitchenware, linens, decorative items, kid’s games and toys, sporting equipment, yard and garden items, electronics, books, and CD/DVDs. Due to space considerations, we cannot accept computers or printers, non-cable-ready TVs, large exercise equipment, child car seats or clothing. All donations must be in saleable condition or they will be subject to discard. Please hold larger furniture items until August to maximize our working space. For questions or to get on the list for furniture pickup, please write yardsale@uucharlottesville.org or speak with Elizabeth Breeden or Jean Newland.
