Click on slide show links above to view some of the steps in the construction of the canvas labyrinth from the beginning to the first walk. The labyrinth project started with an organizational meeting on October 28, 1997 to begin the process of planning, funding, and building a labyrinth for the community. The project was estimated to cost between $1000 and $1500 for materials which consisted of industrial grade canvas, four gallons of paint, and 180 feet of heavy gauge Velcro. This combined with the mathematical talent and sewing ability and enthusiasm of the labyrinth committee resulted in the construction of the labyrinth. The first walk took place on October 22, 1999. |
