Work on developing a Facilities Master Plan for TJMC is well underway! Now is the time to think about how our church facilities will be used in the coming years. Over the next three months, Bruce Wardell of BRW Architects, will be developing a Master Plan to help us use our space more efficiently and plan for the needs of a growing congregation.

The planning process was briefed to the congregation on February 6th, after the 11:15 service. A good turnout fostered a lively discussion. In addition, focus groups have gathered needs related to RE, Worship, Programs, Administration, and Facilities.

The Facilities Planning Committee wants to hear from as many people as possible about their hopes and dreams for the church. There will be additional opportunities to view the progress of the work and to provide input.

There will be three Town Meetings to present alternatives and encourage congregational feedback.

• The initial results of the work so far will be presented on March 6 during dessert at the First Sunday Potluck in the Social Hall. Three possible strategies will be presented for comment with the goal of selecting a preferred strategy.
• Details of the preferred strategy will be presented on April 10 after the second service in the Sanctuary. The purpose of this meeting will be to ensure that feedback from the preferred strategy has been correctly incorporated into the plan and to prioritize various aspects of the plan.
• Finally, the complete Master Plan will be presented on May 1 at 1PM in the Sanctuary. This meeting will present final drawings of proposed facilities, estimated costs, and proposed priorities.
