Our church’s ninth grade Coming of Age class has spent a year exploring what they believe and what it means to be a Unitarian Universalist. Come join in dynamic and spirited worship as our youth share from their hearts through words, songs and special music. |

This potluck is sponsored by the Board, the Lifespan Faith Development Council and the Membership Committee. June 6, Sunday: Artist of the Month Reception, 11 AM, Social Hall Ecstatic Play by Flame Bilyue. Flame Bilyue creates unique two and three dimensional paintings with water color, acrylics, on canvas, paper and recycled sculptured paper. With subtle figures woven into a tapestry of woods and moonlit lakes, Flame’s paintings evoke magical experiences of dreams and ecstatic play that call the heart to dance.
June 6+13+20+27, Sundays: TJMC UUsed BookStore, After Services, Social Hall Our UUsed BookStore is open for business each Sunday in the Social Hall during coffee hour. The stock is rotated frequently, so stop by each week and check out what is new. The selection includes fiction, non-fiction, spirituality, reference and children’s books, all at prices so low you can buy a book, read it, and donate it back for someone else to enjoy. Donations are welcome. Please leave them in the Summit House kitchen alcove or on the front porch if the building is locked.
June 6, Sunday: UUCF Wine & Cheese Reception for Martha & Dave Dawson, 4 PM, Offsite. UU Christian Fellowship invites all friends of Martha and Dave Dawson to a Wine and Cheese Reception on Sunday, June 6, from 4-6 PM. It will be held at Eleanor May’s home, Mayfield, 2933 Mill Grove Lane, North Garden. All are welcome, but we need to know how many of their many friends will be present. June 7, Monday: Meet Rev. Dr. Janet Newman, 7 PM, Social Hall. Rev. Dr. Janet Newman, TJMC’s 2010-2011 Interim Minister, will be in Charlottesville briefly from June 7 – June 10, looking for housing and meeting with the Board, Councils, and committee chairs. If you would like to meet her, join us for an open Social Hour on Monday, June 7, at 7 PM in the Social Hall.

June 12, Saturday: Coming of Age Class Recognition Dinner 6PM, Social Hall Help is needed with set-up, serving and clean up for this special event. This is the group providing this coming Sunday’s worship service. They have also been serving and selling fundraising lunches for the congregation all year. June 13, Sunday: Sermon - From Generation to Generation, Bridging Ceremony. 10 AM Leia Durland-Jones, DRE. Rev. Dr. Morris Hudgins. Sharing important milestones of our individual spiritual journeys is part of what it means to be a community of faith. This Sunday we will recognize our high school graduates, and honor, with a Bridging Ceremony, those youths who seek to identify themselves as young adult Unitarian Universalists. Come explore with Leia Durland-Jones, DRE and Rev. Dr. Morris Hudgins the importance of sharing our religious heritage across the generations.

This is just one of the issues facing our delegates as they travel to Minneapolis for the annual meeting of the UUA later this month. TJMC Photo Directory: The Membership Committee is compiling a digital TJMC membership photo directory and wants to include a digital photograph of every member. If you missed your chance to have KLM Studios make your portrait, you have three possible ways to be included in the directory: 1. Email a digital portrait to tjmcuu@embarqmail.com. (We do not have the ability to scan photographs so only send us digital photos, please). 2. Sign up to have KLM Studios make your portrait on Monday, July 19, between 9 AM and 2:30 PM at their offices. 3. Sign up to have a volunteer photographer take your picture in the Sanctuary after the worship service on one of the following Sundays: June 13, 20, 27, July 11, 18 or 25. You will find the sign-up sheets in the Social Hall after every Sunday service until every member is signed up. Religious Education Supply Wish List: empty, clean plastic medical prescription bottles with labels removed (caps not necessary) for our volcano making project. Similar-sized bottles appreciated too. Donations can be left in the container in the Edgewood Lane hallway.
