Framing Our Future -Together
This year will be an important one for our beloved church community. As we look forward, we need to shape a collective future that exudes the joyful and energizing spirit that nourishes us spiritually, intellectually, and socially.
On Saturday, September 11, we will meet together to envision this desired future. The theme for this year’s All Church Gathering will be “Framing Our Future,” and we believe it fits our present reality as a church community. Together we will explore what characteristics make, or could make, Thomas Jefferson Memorial Church - Unitarian Universalist the ideal church community for you. What do you love about TJMC? What nourishes your soul? What stimulates your mind? What makes you want to sing with joy? What do you find inspiring in our worship experiences? What could increase your sense of community, of belonging? And what important part might you want to play in moving us forward to this desired future?
We will share light refreshments and fellowship. You will have a chance to get to know members who are new to you, as well as greet old friends. We will have an opportunity to work with our new Interim Minister, Rev. Dr. Janet Newman, as she engages us in joyful reflection and worship. We will celebrate our community with song and joy.
Please plan to come and participate in this important event. Our future will be as and positive as we – in beloved community – choose to make it. Peter Drucker once said that the best way to deal with the future is to build it to meet your own needs and desires.
We want to do just that. And your voice needs to be included.
Please join us Saturday, September 11, from 8:45 AM until noon. Light refreshments will be provided. Your children are an important and welcome part of our community; activities for children will be provided.
