Congregational Meeting, January 23

Dear Friends,
I cordially invite you to attend the Congregational Meeting to be held at Thomas Jefferson Memorial Church scheduled for January 23, 2011 at 12:45 pm. At this meeting we will hear reports on the meaning of membership, the search for a settled minister, a congregational covenant of health relations, and church finances. We will also be voting on the Bylaws of our beloved church.
I have enclosed a letter from Jean Shepard detailing the changes in the Bylaws and what we are voting on. I want to emphasize that the Bylaws document (or see Bylaws with Change Tracking ) you will be voting on has not changed the intent of any of the bylaws, but has streamlined them and made our Policy Manual more efficient. The Bylaws as seen in this packet were fully endorsed by the Board of Trustees at the December 9, 2010 meeting. A copy of the bylaws with all of the changes tracked will be available on the Board of Trustees Bulletin Board and in a folder in the mail room. If you have specific question, please do not hesitate to contact any board member.
Please note that we are trying something new with this mailing. In order to conserve dollars and paper, the majority of members are receiving this announcement via email. We are only physically mailing this to those members who have not identified an email address. The Board anticipates communicating to you in this manner for reasons not only of budget, but to honor the work of the Green Sanctuary as they help us move into more thoughtful use of our earth’s resources.
As always, we cannot do the work of the church without you! Your voice matters and I encourage you to attend the meeting on the 23rd.
