August 21, 2016: Into the Woods

Read the Order of Service

We are constantly asked to step out of our comfort zone into the unknown. Whether it’s leaving the safe space of our physical home, or being called to be brave in our interactions with others, we are faced with the prospect of having to adjust to new, uncertain, unplanned, and sometimes threatening circumstances. For this service, Adam Slate took us into the woods to examine the many ways we’re called to forego the comfort and security of our literal and metaphorical homes, the monsters we meet along the way, and where we might find strength for the challenge.
